Best Free Spyware
Are You Really Looking for the Best Free Spyware?
If you are looking for the best free spyware on a spyware prevention website, I’ll need to ask you a couple questions first. Are you looking for software such as a keylogger that you can intentionally install on one of your own computers at home or at work so “you” can spy on your significant other, employees or whoever happens to use your computers? Or are you actually looking for a free program that can help you prevent or remove spyware from your computer?
There is a big difference, and the two options couldn’t be more diametrically opposed to each other. If you want to install spyware to monitor somebody’s computer activity like some employers and parents do to protect their interests, then you actually want “spyware” software. But if what you want is software to “prevent” or “remove” spyware infections on your computer, then what you want is “anti-spyware software”.
I know it sounds like I’m mincing words, but not knowing the difference is like asking for poison instead of the antidote. A lazy employee might just give you what you asked for. It should also reveal your level of knowledge about the spyware problem, which is why you may have gotten infected in the first place. Anyway, I’m going to assume that you wanted the antidote.
Now that we are on the same page, the best free anti-spyware programs (in my opinion) are:
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Malwarebytes has a totally Free version as well as a Free Trial of their paid version.
SUPERAntiSpyware
SUPERAntiSpyware has a totally Free version as well as a Free Trial of their paid version.
HitMan Pro (Free Trial Version)
HitMan Pro has a Free Trial of their paid version. This program works in the cloud and is a very good complement to the installed versions.
As long as you use the free passive versions, and not more than “one” free trial or fully paid version, you can install all 3 of these programs with no negative interaction.
If you choose to use the Free Trial versions of Malwarebytes or SUPERAntiSpyware, they will revert to the Free version when the trial expires if you decided not to purchase them. It is a good idea to have at least “one” active “paid” version of Antispyware software to complement your antivirus software.
When using Trial software, expect to see a few promotions pop-up about upgrading to the paid version. Sometimes you will be offered a discount during their promotional pop-up offers that is a much better deal than if you just bought their product outright without the trial.
