How to Repair Adobe Flash Player – Video

flash player(Free Members Only) If you are having problems viewing animated content on the internet such as videos, particularly with YouTube and Flash sites, your Adobe Flash Player may be corrupt. I see this sort of problem pretty often, especially after a spyware infection. So even if your spyware protection took care of the infection for you, it won’t be able to repair any damaged plugins such as Flash Player. That you will have to do manually. Without getting into all the detailed settings to check, it is just easier to make sure that your browser is using default settings so that Javascript is enabled and then just remove and reinstall the Flash Player with the latest version directly from Adobe’s website.

I suggest you don’t use any 3rd party products you might have found that claim to be able to repair your Flash Player, because the maker of Flash Player itself, Adobe, has all you need the majority of the time. For the more serious Flash Player problems caused by Windows permissions issues, which is probably also affecting other programs as well, you may need to Download SubInACL and a Flash Player repair script from Microsoft to fix permission issues that are preventing the Flash Player installation.

But rather than trying to remove the plugin using your interent browser’s “Add-on” feature, or uninstalling it using “Programs and Features” in the Control Panel, you can download a much more robust uninstaller from Adobe that will remove it for you very quickly. And then for best results, you can download an offline stub-installer to reinstall it. I have much more success repairing Flash Player problems when installing it from the offline version than directly through the browser. I also run both the uninstaller and installer with Administrator privileges. Its easy, and the whole process should take less than 5 minutes, and you can watch in action first in the video below.

Flash technology has all sorts of vulnerabilities that may allow malicious code to be executed, especially if you are running an old version of Flash Player. Its been debated that the security problems alone may be why Apple doesn’t employ Flash. But now that you know how and where to get the latest Flash Player, so think of it as a spyware prevention measure to always have a clean and current version of Flash Player.
